What a quote and what a time it’s found me at.
‘Let go or be dragged’ is as direct as you can make it. I respect that, but it doesn’t change how much of a gut punch this is to hear.
I’ve been rethinking a lot of things in my life, as I work on creating the change I want to see for myself and my world. I am recognising that my choices do not always reflect who I want to be, so understanding that—and changing it—is my current project.
Manifestation as a concept is both tricky and dead simple. You are who you think you are, and you do what you think you do.
If you think you are a runner, and you go out each day to run, you are a runner.
If you think you are a loser, and you bum around all day, you are a loser.
If you think you are a writer, and you write each day, you are a writer.
If you think you are incapable, and you see only your failures all day, you are incapable.
Whatever you think about yourself, you are right. If you think you’re great, you’ll probably do the ‘great’ things you want to do and see your world reflect that. Annoyingly, if you think you’re terrible, you’ll only see the terrible things you do and you’ll still be right about yourself.
Confirmation bias is real, so make sure you’re looking for the good. After all, good begets good, like bad begets bad. Things compound, so be careful what interest you are paying.
Back to the quote however, do not give in to the sunk cost fallacy.

It is never too late to give up the things that hold you back—be they vices, negative thoughts, bad habits, or past sins. In fact you must do this, or you will be dragged under by them time and time again.
I believe that when people are at their best, everyone is better for it. I know this is true in my own life, and I’m willing to bet it is for you too. When people take care of themselves, they are better equipped to take care of and help others too.
In terms of my own position right now, I am weighing up so many different situations, opportunities, and possibilities. To truly have the life I desire, I will have to act in faith, to step out boldly and make big changes. There is no guarantee that any of it will work out, and for humans, that is scary. No net, no safe landing, and no success is sure to await me.
Yet, as I’ve written previously, we are always taking risks. Even in my current life situation, I have no guarantee that tomorrow will be the same. Why would I stay with something that is not serving me or helping me to serve others well?
Will I let go, or keep being dragged?
This is a genuine question for myself as much as it is for you. Taking risks is always scary, but I’m reaching the point where I want to make it work or die trying. There is plenty to lose, but there is plenty to gain too, if only I am willing to try.
Have you had a situation where you took the long shot and got rewarded? Your story and inspiration would be much appreciated, if you are willing to share it.
